Even though Todd Shupe has maintained a prosperous career, he never stops looking for ways to improve and expand his talents. As a person who believes in the power of setting long-term goals, he aspires to spend his life safeguarding the globe's natural resources. In the future, he wants to conduct research as employee at a wood preservation company. Though he has successfully improved the method for removing damaging metal elements in repurposed wood, he now dreams of establishing a wood preservative that is 100% metal-free. Without the metal substances, Doctor Todd Shupe hopes businesses will be able to use this product in construction to help protect the environment. In addition, he dreams of spearheading the pursuit of environmental protection and natural resource preservation by changing the ways we use and obtain wood overall. Todd Shupe also wishes to redesign the middle of the baseball bat to create a new and improved wooden bat for baseball players everywhere.

Three Fast Facts About Todd Shupe

Todd Shupe has created and managed a host of third-party testing and participated in the development of testing processes for an array of different wood-sourced building elements. Todd Shupe graduated from Carrolton High School in Illinois and attended the University of Illinois with the goal of studying wood science. In 1996, Todd Shupe created the Wood Durability lab at Louisiana State University and was the lab’s quality director and overall manager.

Todd Shupe is highly regarded as a true leader. Over the course of his career, he has maintained several director positions and has been an inspiration to his students as a distinguished professor. Here are a few of his most notable leadership roles: Professor 1996-2016 After finishing his Ph.D. in Wood Science at LSU, Todd Shupe taught at the University and shared his knowledge with his students. During his time in this role, he began to establish the University's first Wood Durability Lab in hopes of improving the educational experience of the students at LSU. Manager and Founder of Wood Science Consulting, LLC Todd Shupe became a business owner in January 2018 when he founded a sole proprietorship titled Wood Science Consulting.
